Be A Girl Board Member
Attention high school Girl Scouts:
Have you ever wanted to be part of making decisions for our council? Have you ever wanted to let someone know that you have an opinion on issues too? If your answers were “YES!,” then here’s a great opportunity.
Our current bylaws direct the board to appoint one or more Senior Girl Scout representatives to the board of directors. Those girls appointed will participate with equal voice in the discussion and debate that takes place there. We think the opinion of girls is important and want to hear what our girl members have to say.
The board will appoint Girl Members at its May meeting, so the time to act is now! Read the attached information and job description. If you’re interested, fill out the enclosed application form. Send it to the council president at the Louisville office (Attn: Board President, Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, P.O. Box 32335, Louisville, KY 40232-2335, FAX: 502-634-0837).
The application must be filled out completely, and you will need to send in a letter of reference from an adult who knows you [not a relative]. Coming to the board meetings is important, so read the requirement on attendance carefully. Complete application and letter of reference form are available below.
We must receive your application and letter of reference by Monday, April 28, 2008, for it to be considered by the executive committee for appointment at the May board meeting.
