Registration for Events & Training

Each Service Center has its own registration forms and special information. For your convenience, we have listed the registration information under each service center below. Note: You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view most registration forms. If you do not have this software, you can download it for free now.

General Guidelines for All Service Centers

Unless otherwise shown, you must register for all events and training. All girls participating in a Girl Scout activity must be registered with G.S.U.S.A. Unless otherwise noted, payment must accompany your registration; make check payable to Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana. Cookie Dough may be used for any girl registration processed by GSK. If you use Cookie Dough to pay for part or all of an event or for girl membership, submit the appropriate amount of Cookie Dough "dollars" with your registration. Be sure to take special note of deadlines and space limitations. We encourage you to register early for all program and educational events. Be sure to check Safety-Wise for the correct first aider and adult/child ratios for all events. Adults are expected to serve as leaders for their group at all program events, unless specified otherwise. These programs have been planned for Girl Scouts and their leaders, unless otherwise stated. Please do not bring tagalongs, as babysitting is not provided (unless specified). Attend Service Unit meetings to learn about additions or clarifications pertaining to the program calendar. The troop must be accompanied by at least one adult who has a complete 503 Volunteer Application on file at the Service Center office. Girls should always arrive at events together as a troop. Parents should be told not to drop their daughters off unless they have made contact with the troop leaders.

Adult Education - Adult Education workshops are open to all registered adults. Seniors may register with most service centers if space allows. All participants must register individually. At least 1 member of the leadership team must complete Orientation, Girl Scout Leadership and the appropriate age-level within the 1st troop year. All leaders and co-leaders must take Orientation. However, we also offer a variety of other training events that will enhance your troop programming. Workshops and trainings are made possible through the hard work of volunteer Girl Scout trainers and a few community experts. These volunteers graciously give their time so we can provide low-cost or no-cost programming to you. That's why we require advance registration. Please call in advance if you can't make a training.

Bear Creek Service Center (Paducah)

Call 270-443-8704 or 888-771-5171 for more information and availability. Unless stated otherwise in the event description, send registrations to Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, Bear Creek Service Center, 711 Jefferson, Paducah, KY 42001. Telephone reservations cannot be accepted. All registrations and fees (when applicable) for events and training must be received in the Bear Creek office by the deadlines listed. You are considered registered when your registration form is received in the Bear Creek office and all fees are paid in full. (Exceptions for this guideline apply to Program Sensations and specific programs when a deposit has been approved by the Program Specialist.) Those applying for Scouterships should include the application with the registration form. This service center does not send registration confirmations. If the workshop is full, cancelled, or changed in any way, you will be called. If you do not register, we cannot notify you. In the event that a workshop is already full, when your registration arrives at the office, you will be notified promptly by the office staff. Refunds will be issued in the event of personal injury, illness, or death in the family. No refunds or discounts for arriving late, leaving early, or attending partial programs. Full refunds will be made if the event is cancelled. Additions and clarifications to programs will be in the Ripples on Bear Creek newsletter or available from your service unit manager.

Caveland Service Center (Bowling Green)

Call the Caveland Service Center at 270-842-8138 or 888-771-5172 for more information and availability. Confirmations will be sent to registered participants. Refunds will not be given, unless the event is cancelled, emergency medical excuse provided, or under special emergency circumstances approved by the program specialist. We’ll be adding events throughout the year, so be sure to read The Cavelander, our service center newsletter, for updates. Adult Education - Normally, at least 1 week advance registration is required. Please call 24 hours in advance if you can't make a training. Individual confirmations are not sent for trainings. If the course is full, cancelled or changed in any way, you will receive a phone call or notification by mail. If we do not receive enough registrations for the minimum number required, the workshop will be canceled and you will be notified. Snow, ice, floods, and other inclement weather cancellations will follow the school closing for the county in which the training is to be held.

Heartland Girl Scout Service Center (Elizabethtown)

Call the Heartland Service Center at 270-769-5563 or 888-771-5173 for more information and availability. If a fee is required, please send one check per program. Refunds will not be given unless the event is cancelled. Fill in one form per event or class and mail it along with a check for the fee, when required, to Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, Heartland Service Center, 200 Sycamore Street, Suite 124, Elizabethtown, KY 42701. Please allow 3 days before the deadline for mailing registrations. You may also bring the form to our service center. For required basic leadership courses, you may register by phone. Phone reservations will not be accepted for courses that require a fee or for older Girl Scout courses that require special information forms. You will receive a phone call or a postcard reminder of classes for which you register. If you do not receive a timely reminder, please call to confirm your registration. Please call when you cannot attend a class for which you are registered. If you call 48 hours before the class, the fee will be credited to you for future training. Weather cancellations will follow school closings for that area. All class times are set for the time zone at the training site.

Metro Service Center (Louisville)

Call the Metro Service Center at 502-636-0900 or 888-771-5170 for more information and availability. You can find a registration form for program events in Metro Media. Refunds will not be given unless the event is cancelled. Pre-register for all adult ed workshops at least 10 working days (sometimes earlier) in advance of the course. It is important that you register and pay fees in advance for each class you plan to attend and that you cancel 48 hours in advance if you are unable to attend. Our trainers are also volunteers; they go to considerable effort to tailor the activities and materials to the size of the class. For more information regarding training, please call Deb Giles, Adult Education Specialist, at 502-636-0900 or 888-771-5170 ext. 212. To register over the phone, especially after hours, use ext. 400. While phone inquires may be made, course fees must be received before registrations will be processed. You can also leave a voice mail on Ext. 400. For information on upcoming trainings, cancellations, etc., use ext. 401. We send confirmation cards for trainings. If a course is full, you can be placed on a waiting list and may still be able to participate if a cancellation is received.

If a course is canceled, every attempt will be made to notify you. If there is a weather emergency and we are unable to call, please call the council office at 502-636-0900 or 888-771-5170 and enter extension 401. You will reach a voice mail message with information about classes. If time permits, there may be announcements on WHAS radio and TV.

Pennyroyal Service Center (Owensboro)

Call the Pennyroyal Service Center at 270-684-9481 or 888-771-5174 for more information and availability. Complete the registration form for the event or class, and mail it along with a check for the fee, when required, to Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, Pennyroyal Service Center, 317 Park Plaza Drive, Owensboro, Kentucky 42301. Please allow 3 days before the deadline for mailing registrations. You may also bring the form to our service center. For required basic leadership courses, you may register by phone. Phone reservations will not be accepted for courses that require a fee or for older Girl Scout courses that require special information forms. You will not receive a phone call or a postcard reminder of classes for which you register. Please call when you cannot attend a class for which you are registered. If you call 48 hours before the class, the fee will be refunded. If we do not receive enough registrations for the minimum number required, the workshop will be canceled and you will be notified.
